{ r e v i e w } Everlane v-neck tee

Everlane is a company I learned about through Jade of Endlessly Enraptured. In fact it was one of the first companies I came across that inspired American Threads.

Everlane is what I think of as a model company for consumers. They are very open about their production, including where products are made and the forces behind that.

Not all of their merchandise is domestically made, but Everlane tees and Sweatshirts are made in their L.A. factory

I opted for the Cotton V-Neck Tee in Black. At only $15 it was a good start. I created an account and put the item in my cart, but didn't order yet, I was still contemplating the size. A few days later customer service reached out to see how my experience was so far and offer any assistance I needed. Wasn't pushy or forced, it was actually pretty great to see a company that notices it's potential customers before they even make a purchase.

I explained my project and they kindly credited me $20, so shortly after I took the plunge, and ordered the Cotton V-Neck Tee in Black in a size small.

The tee arrived a day before it's estimated arrival, and I put it right on and never wanted to take it off. It's soooooo soft. The weight is beautiful, it's light but not flimsy, and softer than any vintage tee I own. What I really appreciate is the cut. The dip in the v-neck is perfect, the sleeves are just the right length, and the hem relaxes nicely on the hips.

Next time I order I might go for an xs just because when I wear tapered jeans I like looser tees, and when I wear straight leg I prefer them tighter. But that's a personal preference, the fit is as described on the site.
Everlane has a great range of tees and tanks made in the U.S. and I'd highly recommend them. They're great basics, and $15 for a perfect t-shirt can't be beat.

  1. Thanks for sharing! I am a tee shirt lover, and have been very saddened by the high costs of a good cotton tee (who wants to pay $50 for a tee shirt?) I love that this company prides themselves on putting the true cost up front, and not marking their product at a price above what an average consumer can pay! I will most definitely be trying their product thanks to your recommendations.

    1. I know, after a certain point, you ask "ok, why is this $50???"

  3. Yay! Aren't they fantastic basics!? They are basically the only tees Cory and I wear anymore. I also have a few tanks and one of their silk shirts that I LOVE. And they seriously have some of the best costumer service. I'm a total sucker for it.

  6. That tee looks so great on you! I love a super soft tee. And $15 isn't really a bad price at all!

  7. I ordered the same basic shirt you did, just to test this company out, and it is just so wonderful and well fitting. I am busty on top and the dip of the vee is perfect, it's not too high but I don't look like I'm busting out either. The weight is great and when it stretches across my chest it doesn't go completely sheer so I don't have to wear a cami underneath. Finally a vee neck shirt that doesn't make me feel like a tramp! I'm going back in and ordering a bunch more and my husband was so impressed with the quality he's getting in on the action too!

    1. So glad to hear it! Isn't it perfect though? I'm fairly busty too, and while I don't mind busting out, it's actually the perfect neckline for day to day. I'm really happy you're so pleased with them! I feel like my mission is accomplished :)

  8. I don't mean to pry, but can I ask what approximate size and height you are? It would be helpful in determining if or how something would fit that you have reviewed.
